Supporting youth development through sports

Several other companies and businesses also support the other teams in the Cray Valley organisation. This arrangement gives the Under 13 Greens team access to better kit and equipment for its members. This includes uniforms, footballs, as well as gym/training equipment like cones and high-viz gear needed for evening matches and training sessions.

The children’s parents also pitch in towards the team’s expenses. They pay subscriptions, which go to the rent of the facility. We take pride that our support augments the parents’ efforts by defraying many of the other costs.

Powell Systems believe that being part of a team fosters good values for the youth during their formative years. It contributes to the development of mind, body and soul. When the team can enjoy the sport without having to worry about expenses, it is a big boost to their morale. A team ethos that doesn’t feel forced is instilled. And the kids are comfortable as they make new friends, sometimes the start of lifelong friendships.
